Orthoses
Orthoses are specially designed devices which are used to correct any structural or functional abnormalities of the foot. Orthoses may be recommended as a form of treatment following a full biomechanical assessment of the foot and lower limb.
An orthotics can take the form of custom made or 'off the shelf' inserts which is placed inside a patient's footwear. If the orthotic is custom made it is specific to the patients own foot whereas 'off the shelf' insoles are mass produced and designed to suit a variety of foot types.
